Position Summary:
Jacam Catalyst, LLC, is seeking a detailed oriented, high energy and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of Junior Accountant in our Sterling, Kansas office.
The position will provide the candidate with an opportunity to be actively involved in the company's manufacturing and retail businesses, while supporting the informational requirements of a publicly traded parent company. This is an entry level position and the specific duties assigned will vary from time to time depending on the needs of the department.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with daily and monthly accounting activities of the accounting department;
- Month end general ledger closing, including preparation of accruals and account reconciliations;
- Create or maintain monthly schedules for internal and external reporting;
- Participate in monthly physical inventory counts at plant;
- Daily bank reconciliations;
- Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- Degree from four-year college or university;
- 0 - 3 years of prior work experience;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel;
- Experience with database tools / queries such as Access or SQL preferred;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to create as well as review documents, procedures and other pertinent data;
- Ability to work as both an individual contributor and as a member of a team
Skills & Abilities:
- Computer Skills: Background in MS Office applications required
- Customer Service Skills: Meet internal and external commitments, respond promptly to employee and customer needs
- Work Ethic: Be dependable, trustworthy, truthful, and credible in the workplace. Exhibit a cheerful demeanor towards others.
