Position Summary:
Materiel Supervisor performs specialized and supervisory work with some administrative responsibility. Incumbents are responsible for training, assigning, and supervising subordinates and the proper performance of the assigned supervisory activities of their unit.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs computerized functions relative to receipts of all supplies/equipment. Assists in the receipt and delivery of all supplies and equipment. Maintains proper internal control in storeroom. Assists with fiscal inventory. Monitors and retains inventory of supplies and equipment. Approves freight bills for payment. Prepares monthly status for receiving. Maintains master file of all receipts processed. Reviews computer generated reports and makes adjustments. Orders stock and non-stock supplies and maintains blanket balances. Plans, assigns and reviews work of subordinate employees. Performs related duties as assigned. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of hospital policies, practices, and procedures pertaining to administrative function assigned. Demonstrates considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Demonstrates considerable knowledge of the principles of office management and supervision and ability to apply these principles to office operations. Develops, lays out, and installs complex clerical operations and procedures. Plans, organizes and supervise the work of subordinates in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale. Prepares and submits narrative and statistical reports. Establishes and maintains effective working/public relations. Expresses oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience:
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience. Supervisory experience is required.
Education:
High school diploma is required.
License Certification:
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Physical Demands:
Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking.
