As a member of the Pricing & Legal Project Management Team, the Pricing Analyst will support the firm’s attorneys through the development of innovative fee arrangements and be instrumental in creating awareness of the effect of pricing as a means to meet client needs and business objectives. The Pricing Analyst will also assist in the design of analytical tools to support the development of alternative fee arrangements, monitor performance against budgets, and assess the financial impact of pricing arrangements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
For California, the expected salary range for this position is between $95,000 - $120,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

The Pricing Analyst will also assist in the design of analytical tools to support the development of alternative fee arrangements, monitor performance against budgets, and assess the financial impact of pricing arrangements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Seeks improvements and solutions in a proactive manner. Finds opportunities to save lawyers time and leverage Legal Project Management for improved service, efficiency and economics. Works in an agile and entrepreneurial manner. Exhibits a continuous improvement mindset.
- Displays strong time management skills. Responds quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities. Able to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple detailed tasks simultaneously, prioritize appropriately and delegate to others where needed.
- Delivers high quality, accurate and timely work product and results, and demonstrates the ability to follow through on agreed objectives.
- Develop financial models and analytics in support of pricing proposals.
- Compile and analyze data and historical statistics relating to revenue, realization, and profitability.
- Provide support to partners for pricing requests, including preparation of fee estimates, development of appropriate pricing approaches and the communication of fees and value pricing.
- Work with different management groups and attorneys within the firm, utilizing tools and analytics to guide rates and pricing strategy to maximize profitable growth.
- Provide ad-hoc training to attorneys on the critical elements of maximizing profitability and return on alternative fee arrangements.
- Assist with the development and reporting of internal department metrics to showcase the impact the Pricing & Legal Project Management team has on the firm.
- Create and document best practices as they relate to pricing and profitability
- Work effectively with others on the Finance Team to determine best ways to extract relevant financial data to analyze in relation to pricing and financial analysis.
- Review outside counsel guidelines for new matters to ensure proper setup
- A solid understanding of the matter life cycle of litigation, dispute, or arbitration engagements as well as the potential associated costs.
- Ideally 1 years of in-depth knowledge of pricing and budgeting experience, with some law firm experience preferred.
- Exposure to pricing decisions and fee negotiations a plus.
- Experience with law firm technology including Aderant, Clocktimizer and Iridium.
- Experience with alternative pricing structuring, portfolio management, and financial modeling.
- Experience constructing complex models, financial analyses, and reports using Excel and other relational-database systems.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, including an ability to work across geographical borders.
- Ability to deal professionally and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with internal and external clients on all levels.
- Litigation experienced is desirable.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving capabilities.
