Position Summary
Jackson State University, an NCAA Division I (FCS) member of the NCAA and Southwestern Athletic Conference and one of the leading institutions of higher education in the region, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations and Stadium Management. Under the supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations and Stadium Management is responsible for the leadership and direction of all external functions of the athletic department. This includes, but is not limited to our marketing, ticketing, intercollegiate sporting events promotions, game-day sponsorships, special events, season-ticket holder relationships, all of the daily operations of the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium, managing the stadium budget’s revenue and expenses, and any other elements that may fall under externally driven items for the athletic department and events that take place at the stadium.
The Assistant Athletic Director for External Operations and Stadium Management will assist with all elements of building a championship-caliber athletics program and expanding the Division of Athletics brand nationally. This individual will lead the department of athletics in visionary marketing and communication strategies that continuously raise the awareness of Division of Athletics in local, regional, and national headlines and contribute to building and retaining a highly qualified staff, strong pool of prospective-student-athletes, and campus.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Education
Graduate from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Required Experience
At least three (3) years of experience managing a collegiate or professional sports venue.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
None.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees the departmental marketing, communication, and events for Athletics and Recreation.
- Provides strategic oversight of external and special events; social media and website presence for Athletics and Recreation.
- Collaboration with campus and divisional staff to protect brand standards.
- Revenue generation and increasing campus and community interests including ticket sales, online store sales, and contracts.
- Develops and implements initiatives to increase student attendance and engagement at athletic events while working closely with campus partners.
- Implement community outreach programming to strategically developing support for athletic events.
- Writes strategic plans and measures key performance indicators for reach.
- Coordinates with event management, communications, and facilities staff to ensure that the fan experience is a priority at all fan-friendly athletic events.
- Creates a unique in-game fan experience that adds value to patrons in attendance while creating a home-field advantage for student-athletes.
- Develops, implements, and leads daily operations, including budget planning and oversight, of assigned areas.
- Responsible for the management and supervision of the outbound intellectual property sales and contract approval.
- Provides leadership in establishing an annual fund calendar inclusive of annual fundraising campaigns for athletics.
- Oversight of team-specific initiatives.
- Coordinate booster hospitality at football, basketball, and other select events.
- Responsible for regularly monitoring and reporting all revenue activity against annual goals.
- Responsible for the day-by-day operations of the stadium.
- Responsible for stadium budget.
- Responsible for stadium maintenance.
- Responsible for game day preparation of athletic fields.
- Supervises workers, inspects their work, and assigned duties.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
