MISSION:
Jacobs is seeking an Agile Lead to support the NISSC II contract. Your career at Jacobs enables NISSC to fulfill its mission to “provide classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at NISSC sites.” As a member of our team, you will support corporate and customer missions to provide world-class IT services and support that connects systems and users across NORAD in the areas of software development/maintenance, network services, cyber security, systems administration, and other mission-critical areas.
JOB SUMMARY:
• Provide/coordinate support to the Government Product Owners in executing their responsibilities such as providing technical, resource, interdependency, architectural, technological, and other related insight, necessary to effectively prioritize the backlogs and achieve desired outcomes.
• Oversees a team of Scrum master’s and coach them in Self-management and cross-functionality.
• Lead, Trains, coaches and assist the organization in its agile adoption.
• Facilitate contextual adoption of the SAFe Scrum Framework, including daily scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews & retrospectives, and other related team and intra-team meetings.
• Facilitate and participate in scaled events, including cross-team planning, delivery synchronization, and systems-level inspect & adapt
• Lead and Conduct Scaled Agile Ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives).
• Work with the team and Product Owner/Managers to maintain a healthy backlog and rolling short and mid-term planning for upcoming releases
• Engage the organization to remove impediments to the team’s ability to perform by working closely with the team and stakeholders, including product owners/managers, leadership, and other teams
• Encourage brainstorming, creative thinking, open minds, equal voice, and perspective sharing. Encourages the team to be confident and courageous, thinking outside the box.
• Promote teamwork to enable Lean flow of value and achieving sprint goals
• Vet and work Agile team impediments to closure promptly.
• Maintain and ensure Backlogs and Work in Progress is up to date.
• Attend and Participate in Periodic Large Scale Agile Planning events.
• Create a fun, open, and learning environment, experimenting with various methods to improve and grow
• Brief large audiences on Team status updates, impediments, and risks.
Certification Requirements\: SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
Desired Certifications\: Agile Certification, such as, Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP), or Project Manager (PMI).
Position requirements\:
- Minimum 2 years experience working as a team member in an Agile project or Project management environment
- Basic Understanding of Software Development or Cyber or Networking Engineering or Requirements Engineering or Database development
- Two-year experience as an Agile Lead or Two-year project management experience
PREFERRED SKILLS\:
• Ability to apply scrum estimation techniques to software development efforts, strong leadership, and organizational skills with excellent communication (written and verbal), time management, project planning, people and team building skills.
• Experience in decomposing (or assisting in decomposing) Agile features to user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Understanding / Analysis of Sprint Metrics to help facilitate team effectiveness, efficiency, maturity
• Be able to drive and explain your team’s analysis to executives
• Ability to create Schedules
• Ability to drive alignment from different departments with different goals
• Understands and fosters culture of quality throughout the organization
• Ability to capture team metrics
This position is expected to pay $130,000 - $140,000 annually; depend on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
Essential Functions
Work Environment
- Work will be performed inside a large facility. An inside environment may be a cubicle or a lab environment (considerations\: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim light).
- Commuting between locations may be required daily (~10-minute drive)
- Work assignments vary based on client requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting at desk. Phone/PC or laptop use. Filing required. May require lift and carry boxes of supplies or files up to 50lbs. Extended periods of sitting while on Phone/PC or laptop.
Equipment and Machines
- General office equipment includes telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
- May require operating motor vehicles for commuting between locations.
Attendance
- Regular attendance follow established work schedule is mandatory.
- You may be asked to continue performance dur inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to work.
Other Essential Functions
- Employment is content upon obtain all required certifications within the timeframe specified in a waiver by the government (if applicable) and maintain required certifications through the duration of the contract. Failure to obtain/maintain required certifications will result in disqualification for this position and could result in termination.
- Candidate must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation and enhances productivity in the workplace. Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment. Ability to communicate verbally and in writ to work effectively with a variety of government, military, and contractor personnel at all levels.
- Candidate must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Groom and dress are usually business casual but dependent on client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees work in the same general area.
