Position Summary
As the cavern integrity expert you will provide leadership and technical direction for projects you are assigned to. You will perform ESH&Q oversight of safety management systems, radiological protection, industrial safety, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, health and emergency preparedness on a part time intermittent basis.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Environment, safety and health (ESH) – interpreting national and international regulations, standards and best practices as well as providing expert support in risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk control; environmental monitoring; radiation protection incl. radioactive waste handling; training as well as monitoring of ESH compliance.
- Quality – developing and maintaining an integrated management system, interpreting national regulations, international standards and best practices, providing expert support in quality assurance and quality control at the corporate and project specific levels, and performing quality assurance assessments, inspections and training reviews.
- Responsibilities in reviewing site procedures and practice and associated local standards and recommending improvements /solutions based on best practices, and experience in support of crisis management and/or emergency response conditions.
As the ESH&Q Professional Specialist you wil provide leadership and technical direction for the projects assigned to you. You will perform ESH &Q oversight of safety management systems, radiological protection, industrial safety, industrial hygiene
- An degree in science or engineering.
- At least 30 years’ experience
- Experience of more than one such facility would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in cavern integrity
- Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
The candidate should have the ability to listen, consult others and to proactively communicate with a high level of integrity with a broad spectrum of scientific and technical staff. Building wide and effective networks of contacts both inside and outside the organization should naturally to you, as does gaining clear agreement and commitment from others by persuading, convincing and negotiating.
The position requires a candidate who works to enable the success of others, makes clear and prompt decisions, and takes responsibility for actions, projects and people. The ability to provide clear direction, delegate work appropriately, empower others and uphold ethics and values will also be of great importance. Excellent networking and interpersonal skills are required, as well as demonstrated financial awareness and ability to add value through creative solutions to complex problems.
Duration and location
The position is a flex position and work will be intermittent. You will not be relocated. However, travel will be required in support of work site/ project specific ESH&Q assessments.
Start date
The position is to be filled as soon as possible in support of upcoming ESH&Q assessments.
Demonstrated safety leadership experience required.

On-Site Security training is mandatory before performing project duties.
Timely response to resolve issues is expected.
Overtime work must be pre-approved and authorized

Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
