As an Electrical and Instrumentation Design Specialist, you will play an important part of our team as you complete a variety of technical tasks including Electrical Design, Instrumentation Design, PLC programming and Water Treatment Plant Commissioning. We are looking for someone that can design, program and be hands on through treatment processes commissioning.
Typical duties will include:
- Develop new and modify existing application programming in PLCs (programmable logic controllers), HMIs (human machine interfaces) and associated components.
- Development of design documents under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
- Participate in consulting, design, construction, planning, commissioning/start-up, training, and close-out phase activities.
- Work with and Coordinate SCADA system requirements with other disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, process mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical during the design phase.
- Interact with clients to gain an understanding of their systems.
- Work with contractors, and sub-contractors to resolve issues during construction and commissioning/start-up.
- Collaborate and develop solutions with multi-discipline senior level leaders

Here’s What You’ll Need:Qualifications - External
- Demonstrated professional experience in the electrical and instrumentation field in water and wastewater markets
- Field experience working with contract documents and specifications
- Experience in testing, troubleshooting, and rectifying problems which arise during construction, installation, commissioning, start up, such as: design, wiring, configuration, and application programming issues
- Experience in programming major brands of PLC or HMI product and field startup experience, testing, and troubleshooting
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
- Experience in water or wastewater treatment process automation
- Experience as a licensed water or wastewater operator
- Instrumentation selection and design
- PLC experience: Allen-Bradley (SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogic, ControlLogix), Schneider Electric (Quantum, M580), etc.
- HMI experience: Rockwell Software (Factory Talk View ME/SE, Components, Historian), Wonderware (InTouch, System Platform, Historian), etc.
- Networking experience: EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP etc.
- Database experience: Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL
- Operating System experience: Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2019
- Expertise applying the NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 79, UL 508A, etc.
