Your Impact:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Campus wide training program consistent with all applicable regulatory requirements and Jacobs policies.
- Monitor and evaluate training and development program effectiveness, periodically report status to Leadership and make recommendations for improvements.
- Coordinate to ensure content of the organization wide Learning Center is updated as appropriate and identify opportunities for improvements in trainings.
- Conduct training presentations at multiple locations across Tech Group to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaison with clients, and other Jacobs organizations on training and development matters to ensure our employees and teammates receive timely and appropriate training on compliance and career progression.
- Maintain professional knowledge on training trends, developments and best practices across industry.
- Preform the role of Tullahoma Campus HSE Representative including:
- Chair the Tullahoma Campus BZ Committee.
- Maintain and Implement the site Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) Plan.
- Act as primary point-of-contact and resource for Tullahoma Campus personnel in regard to safety and perform Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Assessments.
- Ensure that incidents on Campus are promptly reported to the appropriate managers and that incident investigation reports are completed and submitted to HSE office in a timely manner.
- Perform regular facility inspections and document findings.
- Oversee site HAZCOM effort, SDS availability and container labelling. Coordinate annual inventory of hazardous chemicals.
- Maintain First Aid / CPR / AED (Automated Electric Defibrillator) program.
- Ensure AED kits are maintained
- Periodically coordinate emergency drills.
- Responsible for safety-related communications and distribute relevant safety alerts, best practices/lessons learned, etc., as appropriate.
- Maintain all safety-related documentation.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requires BA or BS in Occupational Safety and Health, Technical/Adult Education, Engineering, or other similar technical field plus at least three (3) years of progressive and relevant experience. Experience in safety training program implementation is required. Authorized OSHA 500/501 Instructor. Skills required include:
- Demonstrates commitment to Beyond Zero principles and safe work practices; adherence to established standards and procedures. Accepts responsibility for own safety as well as that of others
- Demonstrated experience in presenting effective HSE related classroom training courses
- Experience designing, executing and managing successful training programs.
- Familiar with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, web-based training, workshops, simulations, etc.)
- Stays current with advancements in the safety fields and regulatory changes.
- OSHA authorized Instructor status or completion of OSHA Training Institute or other relevant train-the-trainer or have the ability to complete within 6 months of hire.
- Can understand and interpret OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and other regulatory standards appropriately.
- Works with and assists others to maximize overall group effectiveness and to meet organization goals
- Builds positive/effective relationships with clients, management and co-workers and demonstrates focus on satisfying both internal and external customers
- Communicates effectively both in writing and verbally; able to deliver effective presentations
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Demonstrates positive and professional attitude on all assignments
- Self-motivated requiring little direct supervision and takes initiative, results oriented and organized.
Essential Functions
Will need to wear appropriate PPE (e.,, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.) when working at a lab, construction site, or operations/maintenance site. 25%
This job will involve work in the Tullahoma office and at operation sites. It is estimated that approximately 75% of work will be performed in an office environment and the remainder at a project or site location.
Observation of activities performed at our operations and maintenance sites will sometimes be required in order to develop an in-depth understanding of work processes, hazards, training needs, etc.
Presenting training courses at our operations and maintenance sites will sometimes be required.
This job will require travel to site locations in the US.
Job will require use of a computer and associated software (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint), and other standard office equipment (e.g., copier, scanner)
Safe and Legal operation of fleet vehicles or rental cars will be required at times.
Typical Monday through Thursday work week with core business hours of 7:30 to 5:15 and 7:30 to 11:30 on Friday. However, some work may be performed off shift and weekends as needed. Regular attendance and punctuality is a must.
Must take and pass pre-employment screening process which includes functional abilities testing, drug screen, and background check.
