Your Impact:
The Junior Electrical Engineer for the Jacobs Scientific and Engineering Support Services Contract at the US Army Electronic Proving Ground (EPG), Ft Huachuca, AZ provides critical Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compliance (EMC) testing and advisory services to the laboratories at EPG. This position will utilize electrical engineering fundamentals to learn and optimize military standard processes and procedures to accomplish open air as well as anechoic chamber testing on military equipment. Jacobs will support the obtaining of an iNARTE certification and there is also opportunity for additional (Jacobs sponsored) growth into TEMPEST certification as well. This position supports a myriad of cutting-edge systems under test (from prototype handheld radios to armored vehicles under development) and Jacobs will teach this individual an array of test procedures including radiated emissions, conducted emissions, conducted susceptibility, radiated susceptibility, and other testing. This position reports directly to the Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Lead and serves as the deputy for that group.

Required Education, Training, and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a strong desire to learn RF engineering and EMI/EMC test methodology. Combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted.
Required Skills: Strong foundation of electrical engineering fundamentals. Familiar with a range of equipment including anechoic chambers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and network analyzers. Ability to plan, track, manage and accomplish diverse, simultaneous goals, communicate both vertically and horizontally, lead and direct the work of others. Ability to teach electrical engineering concepts to unskilled labor. Ability to obtain an iNARTE EMI/EMC certification. Ability to configure a test setup based on a diagram and be able to solve formulas. Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel. Ability to investigate problems, innovate solutions, and write reports.
Desired skills: Coding experience and military veteran.

| Must exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require filing, typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be capable of visiting and supervising range/testing operations in austere, remote environments. | |

Work Environment Primarily laboratory work, with a variable percentage of working outside in weather elements (rain, snow, wind, sunshine, etc.) associated with the local area surrounding Fort Huachuca & Sierra Vista. Outside work will include desert terrain with uneven inclines and slopes. | |

Attendance Hours will be variable, depending on the workload requiring to be met. Normal hours are between Monday - Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm with every other Friday off but will change based on work requirements. This position requires physical presence at the worksite. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements. You could be required to work an evening/midnight/weekend work schedule. | |
