Your Impact:
Jacobs is seeking a Safety Manager to be responsible for all processes of the Safety Program including inspections, investigations, continuos improvement, and overall The Manager will lead approximately 10 safety professionals and be responsible for proactively leading Safety at Arnold, Tunnel 9 in Maryland, and the National Facilty Aerodynamics Comples at Ames in Mountain View California.
Program Mission:
The U.S. Air Force Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) provides the DoD and Commerical Aerospace Industry Test and Evaluation services for a wide variety of aero-systems. AEDC operates more than 68 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges and other specialized units located in three states. Many of the complex's test units have capabilities unmatched elsewhere in the United States; some are unique in the world. Through our Test Operations and Sustainment contract, Jacobs employs approximately 1600 engineers, crafts-people, and support staff to provide operations, maintenance, and project modernization support for assets noted above.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all DoD, Federal, and State Safety regulations and guidelines are followed and requirements are met.
- Develop and perform continuous improvement of Safety Management Policies, Procedures, and Standards.
- Understand and deploy Jacobs-wide Safety processes and lessons learned.
- In-source new methods and processes to improve our Safety Program
- Coordinate Safety Inspections
- Coordinate Investigations
- Lead Safety Awareness Campaigns
- Engage and Communicate in the field with employees daily
- Manage approximately 10 direct reports ensuring their skills are sustained, their expectations clearly communicated and outcomes measured, and that the team is working cohesively toward Company goals.
- Must be on-site 100% of work time.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Basic Qualifications:
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant field
- OR equivalent experience
- 10 years of experience in Safety
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in safety
- 5 years of experience managing people
- Previous work in statistical survey analysis
