Your Impact:
- Provide direct oversight for daily operations to include resource scheduling of personnel and tracking of equipment maintenance requirements to ensure department readiness is maintained in the Packing & Crating and Transportation department.
- Provide department personnel with supervisory guidance, operational safety, and administrative support to accomplish all facets of packing & crating and transportation operations for multiple NASA programs to include ISS, LSP, and GSDO.
- Provide direct oversight and guidance for work requirements supported by the LSII (Packing & Crating/Transportation) personnel.
- Generate reports and metrics to track completion and proficiency of processes.
- Support continuous improvement projects when required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
College degree plus prior management/supervisory experience in related field of work required. Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a related field.
- General knowledge of wood shop equipment safety requirements and processes, adherence to customer packaging specifications to include best commercial practice and MIL-STD, and DOT transportation rules and regulations required.
- Must currently possess or have ability to obtain CFR49, IATA, and IMDG certifications for declaring hazards and tendering packages to carriers for shipment of hazardous goods.
- General knowledge and experience managing hazardous waste processes is preferred.
- Requires use of safety equipment to perform duties.
- Prior experience operating equipment or holding certifications and licenses to include 2-20K Forklift, Electrostatic Discharge, Working at Heights, Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Valid Florida Driver's License are required.
- Prior experience managing represented work force is preferred.

- Must be able to participate in presentations to the client.
- Ability to climb launch structures, stairs and ladders for Walkdown purposes
Work Environment
- Work will mainly be done inside, but fieldwork can be a combination of outside and inside depending on the project.
- Working at heights and in confined spaces may be required.
Equipment and Machines
- Computers and printers used for producing reports and schedules.
- Variety of equipment used in performing research.
Attendance
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Occasional overtime is required to meet demanding schedule
Other Essential Functions
- Must work well in a team environment and interface well with the client.
- Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, if necessary.
- Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
