JOB DESCRIPTION

Position / Title: Demand Planner

Reports To: Director of Merchandising

Work Location: Northvale, NJ

Summary

We are seeking a Sourcing Analyst to evaluate and optimize out supplier performance and logistics. As a Strategic Sourcing Analyst, duties will include developing and implementing sourcing policies and procedures. You will be responsible for assessing the efficiency of our supply chain, demand planning, replenishment, manufacturing integration (both insourced and outsourced), analytics and forecasts, to solve problems and achieve business goals. In addition, to cost and quality, you will be partnering with vendors, to ensure reliability, on time delivery and cost-effective contracts with key suppliers. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the purchasing team. Position required a hands-on approach, including heavy analytics/metrics.

Responsibilities / Duties

• Evaluating sourcing procedures and presenting improvement strategies to senior management.
• Resolving day-to-day supply chain issues and promoting operational consistency.
• Analyzing industry and sales trends to proactively and accurately forecast results and identify supply chain issues to protect continuity of supply, lower costs, minimize risk to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Driving purchasing decisions based on cost and scenario analysis while managing distribution and investment risk.
• Oversee giving visibility to cash flow purchasing budgets and YTD performance/usage
• Manage financial reporting, planning, and forecasting duties to support corporate budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Collaborate with the merchandising department to identify and pursue new suppliers.
• Collaborate with fulfilment centers for order shipping timeliness, avoiding backorder situations.
• Hiring, training, and managing purchasing department employees.
• Eliminating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques to ensure a surplus inventory.
• Analyze and forecast purchase orders across multi-channel distribution, sourced through inhouse manufacturing, international purchasing as well as 3rdparties.
• Analyze vendor performance and scorecards.

Required

• At least three years of hands-on procurement or strategic sourcing experience.
• Experience should be in digital/E-Commerce environment.
• Willingness to travel to develop, promote and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Forecasting and planning.
• Demonstrate ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in purchasing, supply management, production planning/scheduling international sourcing and import logistics.
• Knowledge of NetSuite’s planning tools is preferred.
• Highly Excel, Tableau, or other data analysis tool proficient such as V Look Ups, Pivot Tables etc.
