James & Whitney is seeking experienced carpenters to join our team! The ideal candidate possesses a high level of knowledge related to carpentry and woodworking, with an eye for detail, commitment to quality, a strong work ethic and willingness to learn from and support an experienced crew.
Your responsibilities in this role will be delegated by our foreman and will include many different interior and exterior construction techniques. You will work on multiple projects from siding to installing windows and doors to constructing decks, wall & ceiling framing, as well as interior trim and finish carpentry. At all times you will also be responsible for job site management and safety. A full-time commitment to this role is required, and you will be expected to work from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. Our job sites are expertly maintained, and it will be necessary for you to adhere to company policy regarding behavior and appearance.
We base our wages on relevant work experience, and we promote from within. New employees frequently receive pay raises within six months of employment as their responsibilities increase, with the ability for the right individual to grow into a foreman carpenter position.
Physical demands: this position requires the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 lbs, climb and work from ladders, bend, stoop and work around dust and flumes and in inclement weather conditions.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in a carpentry position
- Reliably available 40 hours, good transportation, punctual
- Solid work history
- Ability to read and interpret plans
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools
- Comfortable working with a variety of materials and finishes
- Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in construction and repair of buildings and other structures and items.
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or defects.
- Ability to handle physical labor for long periods of time
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of safety rules, regulations and protocols
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
