What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist position at Jamestown Dermatology?

We are an established Dermatology office seeking an experienced medical receptionist who is organized, energetic, efficient, and able to provide exceptional customer service to our patients.

Our Medical Receptionist acknowledges and welcomes patients and visitors, and establishes a friendly, positive encounter for each visit. Other duties include: verifies health plan information and accurately enters it into the EMR system, checks patients in/out, collects payments, and schedules patient appointments, performs office duties as directed, including answering multi-line phones, routing calls, and taking messages. Informs staff of patient/visitor arrival and provides instruction, assistance and information as to completion of required paperwork and waiting times. Answers general questions about the facility: location, rest rooms, hours of operation, etc. Ensures waiting area is clean, tidy, and is stocked with appropriate patient announcements and brochures. Is responsible for maintaining patient flow, answering phones promptly and courteously, and maintaining clinic schedules. Performs all other duties/responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

A positive "can do" attitude and the ability to be courteous to patients and team members.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Maturity and ability to multi-task.

Education: Degree/Diploma: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: 1 Year of Administrative/Clerical experience in a medical office is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is highly desired.

Monday - Thursday 8 am - 5 pm with a 1 hour lunch break

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
