What are the responsibilities and job description for the Content Engineer position at Jamf?
What You'll do at Jamf:
The Content Engineer is responsible for the implementation and updating of software titles and packages within the Jamf Pro Patch Management feature, as well as for the creation and maintenance of patch software definitions hosted by Jamf. This role interfaces with many areas of the organization, third parties, and customers and will work closely with Engineering teams to refine and curate a backlog of additional Software Title Definitions and ensure the backlog accurately reflects customer priorities. Finally, the Content Engineer will be key in ensuring new content is appropriately prioritized for quick implementation to support Jamf customers.
Responsibilities:
- Create / maintain Patch Management Software Titles, Software Packages, and documentation for patch management.
- Respond to customers via Jamf Nation to help resolve or clarify questions around Patch Management Software Titles.
- Assist in troubleshooting and maintenance of automation tools used to generate updated Software Titles and Packages.
- Monitor Jamf Nation Feature Requests to maintain a list of customer requested Patch Titles.
- Serve as the domain expert within Jamf for information regarding Patch Management Software Titles.
- Communicate with stakeholders around bug fixes, plans to implement changes, and new Software Title and Application Packaging decisions.
- Stays current and up to date on collection of metrics.
- Enables and trains engineers in the implementation of new or updated software titles and packages in the overall patch process.
- Ability to interact effectively with co-workers in a remote, global environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with JSON.
- Experience with Git/Stash.
- Experience working with macOS DMG/PKG files. (Required)
- Basic understanding of software update workflows (Preferred).
- Basic understanding of app deployment and patch management workflows with Jamf Pro (Preferred).
- General Experience Agile Software development (Preferred).
- Good and effective communicator, able to relate with different individuals at multiple levels within the organization as well as with customers and third parties.
- Ability to train others.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues in an easy and understandable manner.
- Fluency in English.
Education & Certifications:
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree
- A combination of relevant experience and education will be considered.
