What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pod 80 Valve Reclaim position at Jasper Engines & Transmissions?
Disassembly: The disassembly position is very detail-oriented, hands on and labor intensive. This position is responsible for removing all the components from the core engine using basic hand tools such as impact and sockets, hammers, screwdrivers and wrenches. This position will load and unload components into a washer. A lift/turn table is provided to assist in disassembling of the core engine. This position may require lifting up to 40lbs. Associates must be process oriented and willing to follow an established procedure.Parts Prep: This position is responsible for cleaning and repairing all the core components that come off the engine core. There are a variety of methods that we follow that include the use of blasting cabinets and basic hand tools to prepare the part for inspection.Inspection: This position inspects each part thoroughly to determine if the part is OK vs Not OK. Associates must be detail oriented and able to follow instructions effectively.Machining: This position requires someone that is highly detailed and able to follow an established process. It includes inspecting block/head for any damage and then following the established process to make necessary repairs. The position requires the use of basic hand tools including air impacts and measurement gauges to determine if the product is in the tolerance. This position will also require the use of mills, boring equipment, hones and valve seat cutters to make final machining finishes. Basic math skills are a requirement.Final Assembly: The final assembly position is very detail-oriented and labor intensive. This position is responsible for putting all components back together for the final product utilizing basic hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and impact tools. The associate must be able to follow an establish procedure for the assembly of the product.
