THE ROLE
The Barback reports to Food Beverage Leadership and works in a team environment with other F B professionals. It is critical the person in this position be passionate about learning advanced service techniques and have a natural ability to manage time.

As a Barback, you will be responsible for supporting the bar operations while assisting in creating memorable guest experiences. You will be responsible for stocking, cleaning and backing-up the bar service team, often assisting in the timely and friendly delivery of food and drinks. In depth menu knowledge will be necessary to ensure safe service to guests with allergies and restrictions. Ongoing beverage tasting and trainings will allow you to expand your knowledge of beer, wine and spirits.
All of our service team members are expected to be reliable and responsible. We put an emphasis on treating all of our team members just like we treat our guests- giving a smile, a helping hand, and a willingness to jump in to assist in any situation. You will also actively develop trusting and transparent relationships with your peers on the service team and other associates of the hotel. WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist bartenders with the function and efficiency of the restaurant, banquet and club bar areas
- Ensure proper inventory of liquors, glassware, napkins, straws and garnishes
- Remove trash and keep bar areas unobstructed, clean and organized
- Keep track of inventory and inform Management of supply needs
- Clean glassware to ensure continuous, uninterrupted service
- Be familiar with the beverage list, including glassware used
- Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages
- Complete closing shut down and cleaning of bar area
- POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- Must have a high school education or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of food and beverage experience
- Able to work well unsupervised
- Able to work alone without direct supervision
- Demonstrate high degree of drive and determination
- Constantly recommend service and product improvement to better the operation
- Keep the work area clean and tidy at all times
- Attend all required meetings
- Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures
- Properly handle and report associate and guest accidents
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental polices/service procedures/standards
- Assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
- Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel
