The Barista prepares and serves espresso-based and other coffee drinks, food or other beverages to guests by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
- Processes orders in Point of Sale and serves customers in a professional, energetic and friendly manner.
- Accepts payment, processes credit cards, room charges, discounts and cash.
- Itemizes and totals check for service or totals takeout transaction on cash register and accepts payment.
- Prepares coffee, espresso, take-out sandwiches, smoothies and salads.
- Stocks and replenishes condiments, plastic wear and napkins.
- Restocks display case and maintains rotation of stock.
- Assists manager or supervisor in transferring stock from freezers / refrigerator.
- Cleans counters, ovens, refrigerators and display cases.
- Sweeps and mops floors.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related, or unrelated to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and write common business levels of correspondence, memos, and formatted letters. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Point of Sale systems.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites.
Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards.
Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
