Job Posting for Bill of Material Writer - Idaho at Jayco
Purpose: this position exists to create and maintain accurate Bill of Materials and records in support of Jayco manufacturing.
Essential functions
Creates all single level bills of material and subassemblies to properly define products and maintains accuracy of bill of materials by continuously reviewing engineering change notices, auditing line and reviewing user feedback.
Obtains information for bill of materials construction from various sources including: engineering drawings, specifications, physical line audits and user group input.
Collects data on materials used in the manufacturing process and assigns identifying numbers and descriptions.
Performs proper testing and views reporting to insure a high level of accuracy in support of MRP and model costing objectives.
Performs tasks, projects and instruction to support MRPII technologies and processes investigating and resolving production issues related to MRP objectives.
Interacts with appropriate areas to achieve company, operations, product development and quality goals and objectives.
Experience/ Knowledge
At least 1-3 years prior experience in a manufacturing setting is desired.
RV background preferred with knowledge of BOM construction and MRP practices.
Necessary Skills & Abilities
Ability to interpret and work from prints and drawings.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills are necessary
Strong communication skills are required.
Proficiency in MicroSoft Office software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
Work Requirements
This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 50% of the day and being in a manufacturing environment approximately 50% of the work day.
Requires ability to occasionally travel between field locations. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch; use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds.
This position is a full-time position, which may require some flexibility in hours & days worked (including Saturdays, as needed).
Regular attendance is required.
