The Surveying Crew Chief directs a surveying crew and is responsible for the successful and accurate completion of various types of survey projects. Leadership abilities are required as well as adaptability to changing project needs and schedules. The Surveying Crew Chief reports to the Director of Surveying and is able to complete assigned projects efficiently to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
1. Manages a field survey crew during daily operations to efficiently collect field data
2. Maintains a safe and organized work environment for crew members and equipment
3. Maintains organized and detailed field notes
4. Delivers accurate and clear field data to the office
5. Trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, equipment use, and field safety procedures
Requirements
1. 3-5 years of experience in land surveying
2. Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
3. High School diploma or equivalent
4. Proficiency with data collection equipment
5. CST certification (preferred)
