Description:

The Deductions Specialist responds to notifications of discrepancies reported by customers. Claim deductions are in regards to product, pricing, freight/handling, promotional/scans, spoils discrepancies. It is the role of the Deductions Specialist to act as mediator between the outside parties and internal personnel to resolve these issues. The position is based in a high volume, fast-paced environment needing extreme attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Support Blacksmith implementation
• Identify the appropriate type of claim and path for resolution.
• Enter all approved claims in SAP and track credits.
• Assist to resolve and/or escalate claims to category managers/sales teams
• Follow all Standard Operational Procedures to ensure claims are processed in a timely manner and according to approvals submitted.
• Provide training on proper handling of our claims policy and procedures.
• Analyze claim data to determine root cause and take follow-up action to resolve.
• No travel required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent phone, computer, organizational and multi-tasking skills
• 1-2 years of customer service or deduction experience with the ability to problem solve
• Ability to focus on details, however minute, is required
• Intermediate Excel skills are required
• Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Animal Science, Accounting, Business or related field preferred; accounting/claims processing experience will be considered in lieu of education
• Experience with SAP
• Blacksmith and Highradius experience desired
