ELECTRICIAN TECH
Salary Range $29.640.00 to $44.500.00 /year
SUMMARY
Plans layout, installs, and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
Installs, trouble shoots, programs and repairs PLCs.
24v AC & DC control voltage experience
Experience with series and parallel safety circuits.
480v 3phase experience.
110v control voltage circuits
Motor control experience.
Ability to identify problems in Ladder Logic using Rockwell Automation Software (Studio 5000, RsLogix 1000, Rslogix 500)
Have knowledge of Microsoft software and how to navigate to Port connections and IP Configurations.
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
Gathers tools and supplies to be used at work site.
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.
Pulls wiring through conduit.
Traces out short circuits in wiring.
Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches.
Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
Disassembles defective electrical equipment, replaces defective or worn parts and reassembles equipment.
Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding Page 1 leads.
Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken equipment and cables.
Repairs faulty equipment or systems.
Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
Performs other routine duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least two years related experience on PLCs programming and trouble shooting. Must have good computer skills and networking skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
