Director of Sales - K12

Purpose and Scope/General Summary: Pilgrim's is on the search for a Director of Sales to head our Pilgrim’s School Sales team. This individual will play a pivotal role in steering our sales operations within the K12 sector. This position is remote, offering flexibility while emphasizing the importance of leadership and strategic sales initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the management of Contract Negotiations, RFP process, Business Development, New Item Development, and Top to Top Meetings with foodservice K12 distribution customers.
  • Develop and maintain lasting relationships with Corporate Category Managers, Regional COP Managers, FSQA team, and Replenishment Coordinators at FFS.
  • Collaborate regularly with operations to review and refine strategies and initiatives.
  • Take full responsibility for Sales Objectives and all aspects of the business affecting sales growth and MDF management.
  • Work closely with Pilgrim’s Corporate office to develop strategies for margin realization.
  • Formulate and implement strategies to boost sales volume across all brands, ensuring attention to required margins.
  • Attend necessary conferences to represent Pilgrim’s interests.
  • Monitor market and industry changes to foresee impacts on Pilgrim’s performance and growth.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in sales, with a strong preference for experience in the food service industry, specifically with USDA-regulated products.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies in the K12 sector or similar markets.
  • Extensive experience with contract negotiations, RFP processes, and managing key accounts.
  • Knowledge of USDA regulations and requirements as they pertain to the National School Lunch Program, a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a history of successfully leading sales teams to achieve and surpass sales targets.
  • Strong analytical skills to forecast market trends and analyze sales data.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, distributors, and internal teams.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for customer meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits :
  • Benefits : Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
  • Paid Time Off : sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
  • 401(k) : company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
  • Base salary range of $140,000 - $160,000 ; and
  • Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;
