The purpose of our Assemblers is to perform simple to complex assembly of components to manufacture industrial food processing equipment. They use standard methods and procedures such as routings, work orders, verbal and written instructions, prints, sketches, charts, and tables to during their everyday work.

OVERVIEW:
- Assemble components as required
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure proper fit of components
- Perform self-inspection and test of equipment
- Accurately report raw materials and inventory used in assembly
- Look for defects and report any issues to shop lead
- Meet all monthly safety requirements as established by the HSE Department
- Attend all required site Safety Training sessions or complete and submit make-up materials to HSE.
- Comply with all JBT safety policies and guidelines.
- This position is considered a safety sensitive position; thus employee may be subjected to randomized drug testing.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be physically capable of:
- Working 10 hours per day, 6 days a week for 12 months
- Working around moving industrial machinery
- Using hand tools
- Lifting parts or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Stooping, crouching, reaching, walking and standing for entire shift
- Receiving and conveying detailed instructions
- Applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm and perceiving the texture of parts
- Working around exposure to machinery noise, coolants and oils, and fumes from associated flammable aerosol products
- Working around exposure from metal turnings, sharp metal edges, and moving machinery
- Working in moderate to extreme heat or cold
- Handling moderate stress to complete work due to time constraints
- Stepping up/down material handling equipment (forklift truck)
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of trades training or a minimum of one year experience with multiple part assemblies
- Advanced knowledge of blueprints and layout work
- Ability to work from detailed assembly, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings
- Ability to use shop arithmetic including decimals and fractions
- Ability to use judgment to perform and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures
- Must have basic tools of trade
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced knowledge of assembly working in mechanical and electrical assembly processes.
