Description
Under general supervision, the Player Ambassador/Starter interacts with all our guests in a professional and courteous manner while starting and monitoring course play. The position has constant contact to provide services for our guests so that each guest receives an exceptional experience.
Responsibilities
Meet and greet all guests in a warm friendly and welcoming tone, and provide all guests with exceptional customer service. This includes greeting guests on the first tee and offer them items including yardage guides, scorecards, ball markers, tees, and pencils.
Responsible for driving the course and managing play and etiquette on the course to ensure an enjoyable experience for all golfers. This includes assist bottleneck groups to help improve the pace by helping, as necessary, with repairing divots, raking bunkers, tending the flag, etc.
Assist with large and small group golf events.
May serve as a spotter and assist golfers on difficult/blind holes.
Maintain contact and communication with guests assess overall on-course experience through the day. Share concerns or issues with appropriate management.
May pick up around golf course tees, cigarettes, garbage, etc.
Check on-course restrooms as when passing by for cleanliness and product refills. Notify appropriate staff.
Notify staff if range balls are in the fairways.
May assist in completing accident and incident reports for golfers.
Attend monthly meetings.
Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
Performs all other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
High School Degree/GED required. Minimum one (1) year of participation in the game of golf on a recreational basis. Previous experience in a customer-service-related position.
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Has an understanding of the rules and regulations of golf and proper course etiquette.
- Strong communication skills with guests and fellow team-mates in a professional, friendly manner.
- Possess an outgoing personality with a desire to positively represent the golf course.
- Operate and drive a golf cart.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Keep accurate records of daily activities.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing needs.
Computer Skills
Required:
- Ability to use employee self-service on companys human resources/payroll database.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Required:
- Must have and maintain a valid State Drivers License, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to an automobile.
Other
Ability to work schedule required to fulfill duties of position. At times, individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate. Must seek approval from supervisor before incurring overtime, Schedule flexibility which may include weekends and holidays.
