What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Counseling Coordinator position at Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA)?
Our Insurance Counseling Department is one of most popular and well known programs here at JABA!
This exciting position will assist clients who need help from JABA’s insurance counseling department. Provide office and program support services for the manager of Insurance Counseling. To participate in the organizing of required volunteer training and to support management of volunteer counselors and temporary administrative staff.
Essential Functions
General Administration: Manage overall office environment such as responding to phone calls, appointment scheduling, filing, copying, and overall office organization.
Customer Service: Interface directly with the public. Address customer needs efficiently within scope of position.
Volunteer Support: Support management of volunteers to include scheduling, training, and resolving client issues.
Insurance Competency: Gain a knowledge of Medicare and associated topics. Stay current on applicable updates.
Data Management: Utilize required client management systems to record activities of self and others.
Management of Administrative Support Staff: Training and scheduling the administrative volunteers and seasonal staff in office practices, confidentiality, phone procedure and data entry.
Maintaining Confidentiality: Commit to the protection of confidential information related to the agency, its operation, proprietary documents, financials, and the individuals served. Comply with data integrity and security policies.
Professional Development: Complete 5 hours of professional development/training annually.
