Responsibilities
- Performs technical, clerical and administrative functions associated with the cytologic examination of cytopathological specimens.
- Screening Non GYN specimens as well as Rapid onsite adequacy assessment at the Tabor Road and Elkins Park sites and Cytoprep.
- Responsible for all QA/QC and regulatory issues for the area. Coordinates the performance of routine and special procedures with available manpower, equipment and reagent/supply sources.
- Monitors turnaround times to insure timely availability of results to patient care areas.Maintains skills in associated areas of responsibility.
- Degree in Biological Science with 12 months CAHEA accredited Cytotechnology program is required.
- A minimum of 3 years cytotechnology experience is required for QA/supervisory type responsibilities.
- Cytotechnologist certification (CT(ASCP) or equivalent required
