What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrap Burner position at Jennmar Corporation of Virginia?
Leading scrap metal company in Cresson, PA is seeking to fill an entry-level scrap burner position. On-site training provided.
This position prerequisites include the following:
· HS/GED preferred.
Primary duties are as follows:
· Operate cutting torch to cut pieces of scrap following specified sizing instruction(s);
· Maintain clean torch cutting tip and replace cutting tip as required;
· Complete daily paperwork including, but not limited to, a pre-shift safety inspection;
· Perform dismantling, stacking, and scrap value sorting actions;
· Perform basic maintenance actions and other general labor duties as required.
The right person possesses:
· Dependability to be consistently at work and on time with ability to work flexible schedule that may include weekends or overtime;
· Ability to follow safety procedures/guidelines and standard operating processes;
· Basic math skills including knowledge of fractions and decimal computations.
· Basic measuring skills using tape measure and micrometers;
· Ability to recognize and grade salvageable scrap value steel and ferrous/non-ferrous metal materials;
· Team member mentality with ability to work well with others;
· Manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, fine manipulation, repetitive standing and or bending capability; moderate/heavy lifting capability (up to 65 lbs); close visual acuity; near/far vision; total visual field.
