What are the responsibilities and job description for the COOK/PREP COOK (#110) position at JERICHO ELEM SCHOOL?
Jericho Elementary School is seeking a reliable full-time Prep Cook/Server to start in August 2023. Under the general direction of the managers and consistent with department protocols and standards, assisting in the preparation and serving of quality food to students and staff in a quick and pleasant manner.
Other duties include:
-Assisting in the clean-up process and cooperating with others to maintain district safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
-Using tested, uniform recipes, preparing baked items, cooked items, and other food according to a planned, approved menu. Ensuring that the finished product is of best quality, both in flavor and appearance, before it is served.
- Assists with the daily cleaning of all dishes, trays, kitchen equipment, and work areas in accordance with department standards.
- Keeps facilities picked up, hazard free, and in cooperation with others to maintain a safe environment.
- Contributes to an environment that promotes wise nutrition choices. Interacts positively with students, and staff.
-Must be able to lift 20-30 LBS numerous times during the day and up to 50lbs on occasion.
-The ability to be on their feet for long periods of time.
-The position requires 6 hours of annual training.
Education and/or Experience: Must have a high school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED). One or more years experience with large-scale cooking and food preparation/serving is preferred.
