Position Summary
The Senior Analyst Technical Repairs Cost is responsible for ensuring aircraft parts are repaired by JetBlue's repair shop business partners at competitive cost. The Senior Analyst ensures that JetBlue holds business partners accountable to meet the terms of repair contractual agreements. The Senior Analyst also negotiates ad hoc Time & Material repair costs for material not under maintenance agreements. The Senior Analyst obtains high quality repairs while controlling costs, achieving competitive cost per available seat mile (CASM).
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensures aircraft parts are repaired cost effectively by JetBlue business partners in accordance with all contract entitlements and all reference manuals and authoritative requirements.
- Negotiates with business partners on the repair cost of components sent for repair and approves non-standard quotes.
- Applies technical knowledge of repair shop practices, composite repair, metallurgy, and non-destructive testing (NDT) to verify repair shop dispositions and quotations.
- Interprets repair contract technical language, Component Maintenance Manuals, and other authoritative sources of data.
- Analyzes repair cost data and identifies cost savings opportunities and trends.
- Reviews industry data to establish repair cost benchmarks and best practices and adapts them into JetBlue's material repairs team and processes.
- Coordinates with JetBlue Engineering and Technical Operations management in technical reviews, business partner disputes and quote approval decisions.
- Develops and implements cost savings plans and reports progress to Management.
- Supports Technical Operations Warranty team in preparing claims or cost assessments.
- Supports ad-hoc requests from JetBlue's Reliability and Engineering teams for chargeable shop work and Service Bulletins to gain favorable commercial terms.
- Reviews and approves parts exchange offers from repair shops in lieu of repairing parts.
- Works with Strategic Sourcing to identify alternate repair channels to obtain competitive pricing.
- Provides summarized repair information to support sourcing of new contracts.
- Runs regular reports on open orders in compliance with internal audit policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Three (3) years of technical repair shop experience, component repair management or materials management or combination thereof
- Familiar with composite repairs, metallurgy, NDT, surface refinishing, painting and other repair shop practices related to aircraft component repair
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills
- In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Available for occasional overnight (up to 20%)
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation, Powerplant, Structures, Avionics, Engineering or Electronics
- Five (5) years' experience in aircraft and engine parts procurement, or experience in other high volume repairs or purchasing environments or hands-on repair shop experience in composite repair, machining, welding, painting, or similar work
- Financial modeling experience
- Prior experience in coordination of aircraft materials, coordination of aircraft component repairs, coordination of business partner performance and/or warranty claims
- Familiarity with Maintenance & Engineering database (such as TRAX)
- Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and/or Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license

- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue's total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
