Part-time Library for the Sanders Memorial Library Katz JCC

About the Library:

The Katz JCC is the home to Sanders Memorial Library. The library was established to promote Jewish learning through our book collection spanning a variety of genres. Also available are Kindles, audio books, large print books, CDs and DVDs! 

The Role:

The Librarian is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Sanders Memorial Library to ensure that members have what they need to learn and explore topics of interest. 

Hours:

Monday-Thursday 10 - 1

Duties: 

•    Assist library visitors in conducting research and locating resources in both Jewish and secular topics 

•    Updating library databases and managing volunteers to carry out daily tasks.

•    Organize all library resources so they are easy to locate

•    Coordinate and create community programs that increase library awareness

•    Evaluate library inventory needs and place orders

•    Identify technology needs and make recommendations

•    Coordinate ongoing used book sales

•    Prepare Grant paperwork at the end of the fiscal year

•    Record all income and expenses

•    Check in/Check out books

•    Shelve returned books

•    Record visitors to the library daily for grant purposes

•    Other duties as assigned by Department Head

Requirements:

•    Prior experience as Librarian or Media Specialist 

•    Knowledge of FOLLETT DESTINY Library Software -preferred
