POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Career Path Programs, the CPP Manager builds and strengthens key partnerships with the DTA and DHCD, supervises and supports direct service staff in both their day to day responsibilities and their professional growth, tracks and reports relevant program data and outcomes, and evaluates programmatic success of multiple program contracts. The Manager, in collaboration with the director, institutes necessary programmatic upgrades and changes to ensure success of the program, creates documents for submission to JVS leadership, funders, other stakeholders. As part of the CPP leadership team, the CPP Manager collaborates with others in the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that support the wider CPP team and program goals. Successful candidates must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, experience working with at risk clients from diverse backgrounds, strong time management capabilities, a proven ability to teach job search and application skills, an attention to detail and outstanding record keeping skills, as well as a strong commitment to the program’s mission and goals.
This position is hybrid requiring time in person on site at 75 Federal Street, Boston, MA as well as the opportunity to work remotely some days.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Relationship Building, Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Support and promote the mission and philosophy of JVS both internally and outside the agency.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, particularly the DTA and DHCD, and work collaboratively in a structured and on-going manner.
- Work collaboratively with and encourage collaboration within CPP and across JVS teams and team members to ensure program and agency performance goals are met.
- Facilitate regular staff meetings and team-based projects.
- Serve as a point of contact for other JVS programs approaching CPP for information and services.
- Provide leadership in resolving disagreements and conflict in a professional and productive manner.
Program leadership:
- Assume ownership of the CPP Manager role as leader for JVS staff, clients, and partners.
- Increase internal and external visibility of programs by promoting the success of CPP clients and staff.
- Hire, train, and supervise program staff in the performance of their responsibilities.
- Model expected behaviors for JVS staff and clients.
- Generate strategies and solutions in response to changes, setbacks and challenges that support CPP’s achievement of program goals.
- Modify management style to accommodate various staff learning styles and set appropriate limits to ensure all staff perform successfully to meet program goals.
- Assist program staff in areas of difficulty and provide additional support when needed.
- Provide oversight of program marketing, enrollment, and service delivery to ensure a quality, client-centered experience that supports progress towards individual their predetermined goals.
- Create a work environment where all staff and clients feel heard, can express ideas, learn, problem solve and succeed.
Administrative/Communication
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with compassion, courtesy, and tact, exercising discretion in handling confidential information.
- Provide all supervisees with a written annual evaluation meeting all agency deadlines for the process.
- Establish, track and meet program metrics (ex. enrollment, goal achievement, employment, retention.)
- Evaluate program performance on a regular basis and provide course correction when necessary.
- Communicate regularly with Supervisor to ensure successful program performance.
- Ensure that all key program data is entered into relevant data tracking systems in a timely, accurate and complete manner.
- Support agency-wide efforts to transition all program performance data into Salesforce and out of tracking spreadsheets.
- Compile all data and complete funder reports according to funder requirements.
- Respond to all internal and external communication (funders, partners, stakeholders, JVS Leadership, and colleagues)
- Develop and update program related forms and procedures on an ongoing basis.
- Perform other duties as requested.
MINIMIUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 3 years of program/contract management and supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to analyze course outcomes and propose means to achieve desired outcomes, if appropriate.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Salesforce, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required.
- Ability to work effectively with staff and clients from diverse cultural, socio-economic, ethnic and educational backgrounds is required.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of clients and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills are required.
- Knowledge of community resources and web-based resources preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree required.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Hybrid work schedule requiring 2 days/week on site; occasional local travel.

This position requires direct and indirect supervision of staff.
Physical Demands
The work is mainly sedentary, outside of travel within an office space and around the city. This job would require the ability to sit at a desk, walk, bend or stand as necessary.
