What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shift Manager position at Jimmy John's?
Shift Leaders help oversee in-store operations alongside the General Manager. The Shift Leaders plays a role in ensuring the store is in exceptional order and that all employees are performing duties properly and efficiently. Shift Leaders must lead by example and execute systems and procedures with 100% integrity. As an Shift Leader, your attitude needs to be enthusiastic, friendly, and positive.
Delegate tasks to restaurant staff and supervise their performance
Maintain a fully-stocked inventory and order food supplies, as needed
Arrange to have shifts covered (e.g. when employees take time off)
Help staff resolve on-the-job challenges
Track daily costs and revenues
Balance the cash register at the end of the shift
Coordinate with suppliers as they deliver food product orders
Ensure guest satisfaction and gracefully handle any complaints
Open or close the restaurant (when responsible for the first or last shift)
Inform the next Shift Manager about pending tasks
Report maintenance and training needs
