*Must be a US Citizen or GC holder living in the NYC area and able to work onsite in NYC 4x/week hybrid for our client. Candidates must have strong Azure, Docker and Kubernetes and financial services experience is nice but not required. This is a senior level individual contributor role reporting into the Head of Infrastructure.


Large buy-side financial services client is looking for a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join the Infrastructure Team as an FTE. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, with a particular focus on Kubernetes & Docker. You will be part of a team responsible for building and maintaining the backbone of the firms technology infrastructure, working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of our cloud services.

Job Description

The client is currently seeking Cloud Infrastructure Engineers with Docker and Kubernetes experience.

Primary responsibilities:

·Highly motivated with a passion for improvement and technical evolution

·Architecting & managing secure, high-availability systems utilizing industry standards and best practices

·Maintaining cloud environment security is a requirement.

·Integration of cloud resources with on-prem resources (Active Directory, SQL, etc.)

·Develop and implement strategies for Kubernetes clusters, including monitoring, backups, and disaster recovery.

·Provisioning and configuring Azure/AWS cloud resources.

·5 years working experience in implementation and maintenance of DevOps pipelines (CI/CD and Provisioning) and the tooling around them such as Azure Pipelines and Jenkins

·Supporting an Atlassian-based CI/CD environment (Bamboo, GIT/Bitbucket) with developers located across US and Canada

·Experience with security and audit technologies: vulnerability scanning, authentication & authorization (OAuth 2.0, SAML), monitoring (Prometheus, Nagios), enterprise logging (e.g. Splunk, Logstash)

·Supporting Azure cloud-based infrastructures and custom web applications

·Configuring and integrating authentication tools across multiple web applications

·Supporting build, release, and deployment pipelines

·Creating scripts to automate cloud-based tasks.

·Creating documentation for systems and processes


Must Have's:

·U.S. Citizenship or Green Card

·Bachelor’s degree in information technology/Computer Science or a closely related field

·4 or more years of Azure or AWS management cloud experience (Azure preferred)

·2 years of Cloud engineering experience working within Microsoft Azure ecosystem

·2 years working with infrastructure orchestration and automation.

·2 years working with cloud provider platforms - Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS).

·2 years working knowledge with Cloud service provider technologies (Microsoft Azure preferred).

·Experience in object-oriented software design and development.

·Experience with Network Design and topologies including edge services & point-to-point VPN setup within cloud environments.

·Understanding of high availability environments - clustering, failover, and geographic redundancy

·Experience with Docker container technologies and Docker container deployment technologies, such as Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm

·Knowledge of specific applications and tools such as:

CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or the Atlassian tool suite

Docker/K8s

AKS/EKS

GIT client usage & GIT servers

·Experience with RedHat Linux, such as:

Ability to manage, update, configure, and secure RHEL configurations.

Ability to configure, manage, backup & restore Windows Server 2012 or higher, to include:

IIS Web Server configuration & management

Active Directory concepts & implementations


Nice to have's:

Preferred qualifications:

·Hands-on experience with a scripting programming language like PowerShell and Bash

·Microsoft Azure, RHEL, Windows Server, and/or SQL Server certification(s)

·Experience supporting Bamboo/Jenkins build tools.

·Atlassian Tools Suite experience

·Experience supporting large Git repositories.

·Microsoft Azure DevTest Labs experience

·Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL)

·At least 3 years of experience in cloud engineering and Kubernetes administration.

·Experience with Azure cloud.

·Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.

·Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).

·Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

·Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and Load Balancing.

·Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

·Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

·3 years’ experience as a Cloud Operations Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer managing a SaaS / PaaS / IaaS environment.

·Experience in monitoring a global Cloud footprint. Hands-on with modern monitoring platforms and time-series databases, such as Grafana, Prometheus, DataDog, or SumoLogic, Nagios, Zenoss

·Experience in Network Services such as DNS, DHCP, WAN Routing, TCP/IP networking and DNS, LDAP, NFS and SMTP.

·Experience with containerization and container orchestration especially with Docker, Kubernetes

·Experience in the deployment and management of microservices

·Requires the ability to use problem-solving techniques, such as root cause analysis, to resolve issues.

·Solid understanding of incident management, change management, and problem management.
