The Position
Our dedicated on-account Business Intelligence (BI) team is seeking a Business Intelligence and Analytics Analyst. The role joins a broader team of BI professionals supporting a large strategic client with a key focus on producing a growing array of BI solutions (dashboards, reports, apps, AI, ML, etc.). Our top talent team is on a journey to help the client shift from reporting the news to influencing it, and we’re looking for team members who enjoy a challenge, never stop learning, and work well in a fast-paced team environment. This is an Analyst-level role, meaning that it is an individual contributor position designed for those toward the beginning of their BI skillset journey. We are looking for someone who can grow with us and sees upskilling as a never-ending journey.

The BI Analyst will work as part of the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence to develop innovative analytical solutions that support the account to maximize compliance, increase productivity whilst minimizing costs and maximizing profit.
The BI Center of Excellence has a well-established commitment to continuous learning and innovation and as such the job holder will be expected to embrace the Tableau and Alteryx external communities, to ensure their skills are constantly evolving and they embrace new analytical techniques and functionality within our core BI products.
As the account’s use of data and analytics matures, so will the tools and platforms the account uses for Business Intelligence. The BI Analyst will be expected to support the development of analytical Proof of Concepts to demonstrate the potential return on investment and then to transform Proof of Concepts into sustainable processes that can be adopted by the account and can be shared across JLL. This will be done as part of the wider BI Center of Excellence, ensuring any developed solutions are documented and embedded within the operating framework of the team, including leveraging the account’s governed data architecture models.
Role Purpose
We are seeking an entry-level Business Intelligence Analyst that has responsibility for data, reporting, and analytics. The role is an individual contributor working alongside a team of substantive BI professionals and will receive guidance and coaching as they start out in their analytics career. The role will leverage the existing tools and platforms available to the account (SQL, Alteryx, and Tableau) to support a large strategic client with a key focus on improving compliance, reducing cost, and increasing productivity.
The main purpose of this position is to develop a solid start to your BI career while also providing support to our team. Our team has a healthy coaching mentality where we’re all always learning. Come join us!
What this job involves:
Understand business/client requirements: ensure the solutions & services provided are relevant and address the key business needs
Support small-to-medium-scaled projects conducted by the team
Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions, including interactive dashboards in Tableau
Own minor adjustments and/or support behaviors related to Tableau dashboards, Alteryx workflows, and documentation
Sourcing data from internal MS SQL Server databases, Tableau published data sources, external sources, and leveraging ETL tools when needed
Speak up when you see areas of improvement related to optimal BI/analytics strategies or execution
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and manage their expectations
Develop own expertise and share it with the team members to help grow the team
Support more senior team members in day to day work
Come to work hungry to learn every day

Bachelor degree in relevant concentration, or equivalent working experience
Minimum 1 year past work experience as a BI, business or data analyst, could include internships
Effective communicator in English
Strong critical thinking skills
Working experience in BI tools
Querying databases (SQL) and/or ETL tools (e.g. Alteryx, Azure Data Factory) is desired
Working experience in analytical toolkit (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R, Python) would be a plus
Strong analytical mindset with an ability to interpret, visualize and tell the story behind the data
Focus on providing relevant solutions to the clients’ challenges, which drive productivity, profitability, client satisfaction or other important business metrics
Able to deliver high-quality work in a timely manner within a tight timeline
A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to effectively communicate both with technical experts and management
Professional experience and passion to further excel in broadly understood BI, including business & client understanding, business analysis, data visualization, databases, data integration, ETL, advanced analytics, big data
Location: East Coast, USA ideal (Charlotte, NC preferred) but anywhere in continental US is acceptable. Virtual position optional
Reporting relationships: This position reports into the Sr. Manager of the Portfolio Development Services BI Team, who reports into the Sr. Director of BI and Analytics.
Direct reports: None, however the BI Analyst will be expected to knowledge share and support both personal continuous learning and that of peers within the on-account BI team as well as the BI Center of Excellence.
