The JM Family College Internship Program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. The program is a 10 week paid internship. Students must be available to intern from June 6 - August 12, 2022. Students in the program will actively contribute to their team's success, learn about JM Family's company and culture and obtain new skills through learning opportunities and networking events. The individual selected for this internship will be responsible for supporting their department in a variety of functions and will have exposure to activities related to the department's initiatives. The intern will also gain access to professional development opportunities through the internship program. Some of these opportunities include business presentation skills classes, lunch and learns and career readiness workshops. 

Job Description

JM Family is seeking candidates for its Legal Intern Program. Interns may be placed in the legal departments of its four main subsidiaries, JM Family Enterprises, Inc., Southeast Toyota Distributors, Southeast Toyota Finance, and JM&A Group. Interns will assist in a variety of legal projects, conduct legal research and provide legal analysis in a variety of areas related to the automotive industry.  Interns will work directly with in-house attorneys, paralegals and support staff, as well as having routine exposure to other departments in the company.   

The ideal candidate will be available to start the internship beginning on June 6, 2022 and can work 40 hours per week full-time.

• Actively enrolled in an accredited law school
• Must have completed a minimum of one year of law study in college/university
• Legal research and writing skills
• Basic contract knowledge
• Basic understanding of legal terms
• Strong organizational skills

Job Requirements

• Must be a minimum of 18 years old at the start of the program (June 6, 2022) 
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Actively enrolled in an accredited law school
• Completed at least one semester of study at an accredited college or university
