About the Role
The Custodian maintains the interior and exterior of Company facilities and offices in a clean, neat, orderly and secure manner; maintains the plumbing, electrical, heating and other building systems. This person performs a variety of cleaning, general maintenance and landscaping duties, including maintaining safe walkways and parking areas.
Essential Function / Duties
- Keep facilities and property in clean and orderly condition

Clean facilities including, offices, restrooms, storage areas, entryway
- Draperies, blinds, floors, windows, light fixtures, furniture, stairs, doorways, ceilings, trim & railings, carpeting, restrooms, walls
- Vacuum & sweep, mop, shampoo carpets, dust, wash & scrub, polish, buff & wax floor, sanitizing
- Painting rooms as needed
- Empty trash cans and place garbage & recycling in outside binds
- Inventory and order facility supplies and stock areas as needed; pick up orders as needed

Maintain exterior landscaped areas and parking lots
- Mow lawns, plant & maintain flowers, trim shrubs, trees, etc.
- Snow & ice removal using snow blower and shovel in parking area, sidewalks, entry ways, spread salt

Perform routine maintenance activities including minor repairs to electrical, heating and plumbing systems and system maintenance
- Work with contractors and refer to contractors as needed

Observe and report security, safety, and other problems
- Ensure facilities are secured nightly and on weekends
- General maintenance of company vehicle including cleaning and service scheduling
- Move objects from one room to another as needed
- Adheres to all MIOSHA, federal and company safety requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule / Supervision
Position: Full-time: 40 hours per week; flexible hours needed for emergency facility issues.
Position Status: Non-Exempt position; with compensation, without notice
Recommended Education / Experience
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 2 years custodial experience; minor electrical, plumbing, light construction experience helpful, prior purchasing experience helpful.
Expected Behaviors / Qualities

Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment and routinely uses custodial tools, equipment and supplies. Provided Personal protective equipment may be required. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and operate a variety of custodial equipment.
