IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

As an IT Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our technological infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing IT systems, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate for this position is not only technically proficient but also possesses strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with other teams within the organization.

 Provides mostly tier 2 (and sometimes tier 3) support within the networking environment.

 Successful provisioning as well as supervision, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This also includes the installation of new systems, rebuilding existing systems, configuration of hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with customer/ government standards.

 System maintenance: Monitor and maintain our network, servers, and computer systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.

 Evaluates a system’s performance and identifies user needs based on approved software per customer specifications.

 Supports acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

 Works with team to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may assist with system design efforts.

 Contributes to the preparation and presentation of technical trade-offs and/or results to managers, customers and peers.

· Works closely with network operations, systems and other groups on business projects, assignments, problems, etc.

· Ensures proper documentation for the corporate knowledgebase, including design, procedural and lessons learned. This also includes maintaining and updating existing documentation.

· Monitors the Network and System Enterprise with provided tools to ensure the health of the critical client solutions.

· Contributes to technical artifacts through team/program SharePoint and/or communities of practice.

· Data security: Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.

· Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of IT processes, configurations, and procedures for reference and training purposes.

· Current DOD Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

· University degree or equivalent education and experience.

· Minimum of 3 years domain experience.

· Knowledgeable in evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to purchase hardware and software.

· Knowledgeable in setting up administrator and service accounts.

· Knowledgeable in network security procedures, best practices, and implementation.

· Ability to troubleshoot software issue and customer applications as required.

· Has achieved industry standard certifications: e.g.: Security , Linux

· Proficient documentation skills are required.

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant field. Degree may be substituted with additional relevant industry experience and/or industry accepted training and certification.

· 5 years of IT professional experience overseeing the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance.

· Proficient in Windows OS and Linux OS.

· Must have: Comptia Security
