RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety
- Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Informs Operations Manager of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately.
- Follows plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s, SQF Requirement, and general quality activities for First Run Quality efforts.
Tasks
- Monitors and maintains scheduled production and leads team to achieve planned schedule attainment goals
- Monitors/directs troubleshooting efforts so that machine efficiency can be maximized
- Manages labor costs by maximizing employee productivity
- Ability to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and expectations for all Team Members
- Verifies and validates that work areas are cleaned and organized at end of shift
- Provides leadership for employee engagement with all departmental needs
- Ability to set clear expectations to create a culture of accountability
- Communicates effectively with team members to meet expectations
- Guides the leads to meet established goals for safety, quality, and efficiency
- Establish working relationships with Team Members for a positive work culture
- Coach, direct, guide team members training, effectiveness, and engagement
- Responsible for following all company Safety, Environmental, and GMP policies and help ensure that all D&W employees follow established policies and procedures.
- Assumes responsibility for shift’s output, ensuring excellent quality, safety and housekeeping at all times including scheduled weekends.
- Assists in the creation/administration of detailed employee work schedules to maximize production.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as business needs dictate.
- Writes, Implements and trains employees on standard work practices
- Leads Company Initiatives such as 5S, Root Cause Analysis, KPI’s etc.
- Motivates/supports shift personnel keeping clear/accurate records of performance, attendance, and safety.
- Delivers yearly employee performance appraisals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Strong People Skills is a Must
- Ability to listen, communicate, and maintain strong working relationships
- Two(2) plus years related experience in manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of production and manufacturing processes.
- Lean Manufacturing experience; Lead Kaizen events.
- Root cause analysis and problem solving experience.
- Detail, Safety, and Quality oriented and can multi-task.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Strong People Skills is a Must
