Job Details
A successful candidate will have a solid knowledge of accounting processes and experience working in healthcare and/or health insurance. We are seeking a highly organized professional who is a strong people manager with a track record of process improvement. The goal is to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company compliant with all regulatory standards and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper general ledger commensurate with federal regulations including intercompany transactions and charges
- Analyze transactions to ensure accurate revenue recognition and provision records to the correct accounting period
- Ensure proper recording of intercompany transactions on a timely basis.
- Establish policies and procedures for the department to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee accounting for related entities including pharmacy, real estate, TPA and administrative entities
- Oversee month end reconciliations and timely close process for assigned entities and consolidation.
- Research and document technical accounting issues for the consolidated entities and subsidiaries
- Serve as a liaison to external auditors
- Manage the IBNR and other insurance related reserves and reinsurance matters, working cross functionally with the risk management department
- 4 years of experience in healthcare accounting
- Proven track record of managing general ledger and subledgers
- Start up experience preferred - must thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Netsuite experience preferred
- Big eight, large regional experience highly preferred
- CPA license or in pursuit of CPA license highly preferred
