POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing leadership and management for all activities of the Finance and Accounting department; maximize return on company financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems; provide total budget management; be constantly prepared for and successfully pass any and all applicable audits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Insure financial decisions are guided by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers and reporting systems to insure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Consistently collect and interpret/analyze financial data and present applicable reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting internal audits on a routine basis; provide appropriate information to external auditors.
- Assist all members of management in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all plans/targets and compare to actual results to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate.
- Manage all aspects of company payroll system; insure accurate and timely paydays for all employees; investigate and correct errors/inaccuracies; maintain payroll data/files as appropriate.
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls.
- Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing proper and timely financial reports and advising management on needed actions.
- Provide leadership to department staff through coaching/counseling and training; plan, monitor and appraise work schedules and results.
- Maintain current professional and technical knowledge through a variety of means.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial information, reports, data and plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting or a related field.
- Five or more years’ experience in a financial leadership position with similar responsibilities to include payroll.
- Demonstrated knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles to include Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal and state financial regulations and required federal and state financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze financial data and produce applicable reports, statements and projections.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality in all areas.
- Ability to use computer and all applicable financial and related software systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational ability with effective interpersonal skill.

The assigned work station environment is a climate-controlled office setting with adequate lighting and quiet to moderate noise level; on rare occasions, work may be required in a non-climate-controlled production area with temperature extremes, varying light levels, moderate to loud noise levels and exposure to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, powered industrial trucks, wet/humid conditions, dust/odors and minor risk of vibration or electric shock; work in an outdoor setting with all weather conditions possible is unlikely but possible on extremely rare occasions.
