Job Details
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with Partners, CFO and the other functional heads to attain business objectives.
Assist in the establishment of priorities for the accounting department and create and monitor metrics that measure performance.
Have knowledge of foreign exchange and feel comfortable working in multiple currencies.
Participate in cash management activities and contribute to balance sheet actions and decisions.
Manage all financial transactions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement, travel and expenses and other general ledger adjustments.
Provide weekly Vendor Payment List and manage payments.
Manage all technical accounting, including revenue deferral/recognition, expense accruals, asset depreciation/amortization, managerial reserves/estimates and lease/debt amortization.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, maintain current audit schedules, and provide a variety of variance and metric reporting. Includes monthly Bank Reconciliations, Credit Card Reconciliations, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Reconciliations.
Analyze workflow for efficiency, best practices, and improvements.
Review and approve invoices for payment.
Vendor invoice reconciliation – design a system to verify and reconcile vendor invoices. Must be able to reconcile invoices that arrive in different formats.
Staff management – constant training and monitoring of the staff to determine if they are skilled enough to handle their responsibilities. This includes training, cross-training and back up plans. Setting up of formal SOP’s and guidelines for each accounting aspect. Promote team environment.
Ad hoc projects as requested.
Qualifications:
10 years financial operations experience managing people and a financial department independently.
Strong experience with month-end and year-end close processes including overseeing annual audit.
Expertise in NetSuite (or similar ERP) software system
Dedicated to timely and accurate reporting.
Strong business acumen, natural curiosity, and a growth mindset.
Professional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills to work effectively at all levels and across concurrent projects and workstreams.
Highly proficient in Excel
