We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Assistant Controller. This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional to make a significant impact within a growing company. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the finance department, including accounting, tax preparation, auditing, banking regulatory reporting, and treasury. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) reporting.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation and presentation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable financial rules and regulations.
2. Oversee the company's accounting operations, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
3. Assist in overseeing tax preparation, audits, and banking regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
4. Assist in the management of the company's treasury function, ensuring sufficient cash flow to meet the company's operational and capital investment requirements.
5. Collaborate with the Controller to develop budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
6. Develop and implement effective internal controls to enhance the reliability of financial information and protect the company's assets.
7. Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
8. Provide leadership and support to the finance department team.
9. Support the Controller in ensuring that the company's financial reports are prepared and delivered on time.
10. Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modeling for senior company leadership.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is a plus.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the finance industry.
4. Strong understanding of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
5. Hands-on experience with general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) reporting.
6. Proficient in tax preparation, auditing, and banking regulatory reporting is a plus.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the company.
