Our client is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our Information Technology and Security team in Austin, TX. This full-time position offers the opportunity to be a part of a fast-growing company that is revolutionizing the trucking industry. You will be joining an experienced engineering team in the design, simulation, implementation, and testing of electrical powertrain systems. Reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure.
At our client, cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT&S infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we are seeking an experienced Microsoft Azure Cloud Engineer with expertise in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale infrastructure in Azure. The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud-based tech, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, experience leading staff, and advanced industry knowledge is key to keeping us on the cutting edge. From day one, you will have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT&S operations, and an ongoing impact on our rapid growth.
Job Details
Lead the development and migrations of our client's Cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
- Define and document best practices and processes for application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
- Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies.
- Ensure application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards and thoughtful design.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
- Develop and implement technical efforts to design, build, and deploy Azure applications at the direction of product developers, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive modeling, and advanced analytics.
- Participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle for Azure solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.
- Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.
- Employ exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues proactively.
- Define and deploy zero-trust governance processes and architecture.
Qualifications include:
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related discipline/experience preferred.
- Specialized knowledge/Professional Certifications (preferred)
- 5 years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP platforms.
- Knowledge of web services, applications, API, REST, and RPC
- Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure & Security Best Practices
- Working knowledge of scripting languages, preferably PowerShell
- Cloud certifications are a plus (preferred)
- Working Knowledge of IBM Cloud (preferred).
- Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected frameworks.
- Experience in some of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, AI, advanced analytics
- Proven ability to be collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts.
