We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Bilingual Commodity Manager to join our fast-paced Engineering industry team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in commodities, materials management, inventory management, supply chain management, procurement, logistics management, vendor management, and negotiation.
As a Permanent Materials Manager, you will play a vital role in managing the flow of materials, including the purchasing, inventory, and distribution of commodities. Our ideal candidate has the ability to implement and maintain a highly effective, efficient, and productive materials management system. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior analytical skills, strategic thinking, and a proven track record of managing complex supply chain operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.
- Oversee the materials management lifecycle, including procurement, inventory control, logistics, and distribution.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms, prices, and delivery schedules.
- Implement effective inventory techniques to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize warehouse space.
- Collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, quality and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for services and products.
- Regularly review the performance of suppliers and vendors, ensuring contract compliance and managing vendor relationships.
- Develop and maintain detailed reports of materials processes for analysis and future planning.
- Ensure all supply chain operations comply with laws, regulations, and sustainable practices.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Engineering industry.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Proven experience in commodities, materials management, inventory management, supply chain management, procurement, logistics management, vendor management, and negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
