A well-known resort is growing and looking for an experienced Controller to add to their finance team. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality industry, resort finance, and financial accounting. The Controller will play a pivotal role in our company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
2. Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to Management and Board of Directors (financial performance, projections and other special projects as required).
3. Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
4. Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms performance.
5. Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.
6. Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
7. Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities. This includes the coordination of these activities with all satellite offices as well.
8. Monitor performance of the company’s portfolio of assets and provide financial insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan of organization.
9. Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
10. Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to automate processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. A Master’s degree or MBA is highly desirable.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
3. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior finance role in an engineering or related industry, with a strong understanding of the hospitality industry and resort finance.
4. Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
5. Strong knowledge of financial accounting and experience with financial reporting.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
7. Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
8. Experience in assessing complex situations and implementing solutions.
9. Strong knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP).
10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; proficiency in accounting software systems.
