Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and lead a skilled accounting team, including team members across various roles such as management, accounting, accounts payable, and cash application specialists.
Direct and coordinate all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Cash Applications, Treasury Management, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, and Financial Reporting, with responsibilities expanding as process familiarity grows.
Manage comprehensive tax compliance, covering federal, multi-state, and local income taxes and sales and use taxes across U.S. and Canada, while fostering relationships with external tax partners.
Oversee treasury management functions, including banking procedures and financial institution partnerships.
Develop and enforce financial policies to ensure timely, accurate financial statements compliant with GAAP.
Lead monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entry preparation, general ledger review, account reconciliation, and variance analysis.
Generate, review, and manage corporate financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Establish internal controls, policies, and procedures to support sound business practices.
Provide financial insights and reporting in response to executive and senior management inquiries.
Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and maintain strong audit partner relationships.
Support the transition to a NetSuite ERP system by developing accounting processes, documentation, and forecasting.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Over 7 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably as a Controller.
CPA license required.
Experience with NetSuite ERP is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (with skills in pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and macros being a plus), and familiarity with Outlook, Word, and Teams.
Self-motivated, focusing on meeting deadlines, working well under pressure, and handling shifting priorities.
Strong leadership and professional development orientation.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across organizational levels.
Deep understanding of general accounting principles.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to enhancing process efficiency within the accounting function.
