We are seeking an experienced Permanent Land Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on local projects in the construction industry, where your skills and experience will be highly valued.
As a Land Surveyor, you will be responsible for determining property boundaries, preparing site plans, and conducting field surveys.
We offer top compensation for the right candidate with the right skillset, specifically in pavement and grade calculation.
Responsibilities
1. Perform detailed research at town, county, and state levels.
2. Conduct field surveys to establish property boundaries and pertinent features.
3. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys.
4. Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
5. Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
6. Coordinate findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with projects.
7. Assess all data, compile comprehensive reports, and present findings to relevant parties.
8. Conduct surveys to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles.
9. Perform pavement and grade calculations for construction projects.
10. Work closely with civil engineers, landscape architects, cartographers, and other professionals to execute project plans.
Qualifications
1. A Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Land Surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
3. Proficient in using modern surveying equipment, including GPS, conventional robotic total station systems, and data collection technology.
4. Strong working knowledge of pavement and grade calculation.
5. Excellent understanding of surveying laws and the application of engineering and construction plans.
6. Ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
11. Must be licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor or be able to obtain licensure within six months of employment.
