We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in a variety of exciting projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil and structural engineering, with a particular focus on concrete construction and restoration, as well as experience in condo projects. The candidate will be expected to provide senior leadership within the team, guiding and mentoring junior staff while also taking the lead on complex engineering tasks.
Responsibilities:
As a Principal Structural Engineer, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Leading the design and analysis of structural systems for various types of buildings, including condos and other residential projects.
2. Overseeing the development of construction documents and ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
3. Providing technical expertise and guidance in the use of concrete and other construction materials.
4. Leading the restoration and rehabilitation of existing structures.
5. Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to project delivery.
6. Mentoring and developing junior engineers, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
7. Interacting with clients and stakeholders, presenting design concepts and solutions in a clear and professional manner.
8. Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Principal Structural Engineer position, candidates must possess the following:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on concrete construction and restoration.
3. Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
4. Significant experience in the design and analysis of structural systems for residential buildings, particularly condos.
5. Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of successfully managing and mentoring a team.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Proficiency in relevant engineering software.
8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
9. A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
