Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Works closely with operations team to get feedback on the opportunities of each of the processes in order to propose projects, modifications and preventative maintenance work to avoid shutdowns and/or increase efficiency and/or quality of product
- Assists with troubleshooting processes in the production facility.
- Work with the maintenance team to develop preventative maintenance procedures
- Document common processes and implement best practices across all facilities
- Works within engineering department to have aligned and priority-based objectives
- Reviews and analyzes reports, schedules, drawings, and other data to propose and calculate feasibility of proposed projects and/or cost/yield savings
- Works with and directs vendors who design manufacturing equipment and processes
- Work with contractors, equipment manufacturers, and plant personnel to design, install and start-up new machinery
- Make changes and update drawings for new or existing equipment
- Make suggestions to improve existing processing systems
- Designs, plans, and oversees personnel who construct, fabricate, improve/maintain equipment, processes, and facilities
Requirements:
- Advanced technical education (degree in engineering preferred)
- 5 years of experience in a process engineering role
- Experience with plastics recycling, extrusion and solid stating a plus
- Work safely. Responsible for keeping safety the top priority at all times.
- Strong communication skills, computer literate, and excellent writing style.
- Willing to be a hands-on resource and carry work assignments to completion.
- Practical, organized, common sense approach to problem solving.
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles
- Must be able to read electrical and mechanical schematics for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems with minimal supervision.
